EMILY STEIN, PhD
PRESIDENT AND CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
Emily created Sevident’s proprietary capture technology and has been developing and refining it since 2008. Emily brings a unique scientific background that spans Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Molecular & Cellular Immunology. She completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Immunology & Rheumatology at Stanford University where she studied the role of the neuroendocrine-immune axis in rheumatic disease. Emily holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of California at Berkeley where she studied signaling pathways involved in stress response and cellular differentiation and a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Iowa where she studied the interaction between M. tuberculosis and innate immune cells.
HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Morgan Donaldson has 10 years of Sales, Business Development, and Product Management experience in early and mid stage biotech companies. In her tenure at DNA Genotek, she developed key account strategies and pricing models, managed an international sales team, and established global sales channels (West Coast USA, APAC, EMEA and LATAM). As a Product Manager, Morgan led the development and launch of a blood biostabilizer. In her later role as Director of Business Development, she led DNA Genotek's inorganic growth strategy through technology licensing initiatives and M&A activities in the areas of Infectious Diseases, Microbiome Sciences, and Human Genetics.
HEAD OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT
Jocelyn’s interests span the intersection of investment, healthcare, and design. In addition to her role with Sevident, she currently works at Incandescent, a research, advisory, and venture development firm focused on how people create, build, and run enterprises. She was most recently an investment consultant at the International Finance Corporation, the private investment arm of the World Bank Group, on their healthcare and education team. In addition to her finance background, Jocelyn is a co-founder and advisor of The Design Gym, a design-thinking company which empowers people and companies to innovate and create change by accessing the power of design thinking. Jocelyn has been a guest lecturer at MIT Sana and the Stanford University Design School, where she has spoken on healthcare tech financing and design-thinking. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
DANIELLE WENEMOSER, PhD
Danielle joined Sevident as a Senior Scientist in 2015. Her undergraduate training at the Free University Berlin Germany equipped her with a strong knowledge in all major fields of biology ranging from molecular biology, virology, microbiology, neurology, and even botany. She performed her Ph.D. work at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT, where she studied the mechanisms governing stem cell regeneration. During her Postdoc at Stanford School of Medicine, she focused on the epigenetic phenomena of aging and rejuvenation in stem cells. Her experience in pioneering novel methods has been of tremendous value, allowing her to quickly adopt cutting-edge techniques and find novel solutions to difficult problems. In her free time Danielle loves to go on hikes with her husband and two dogs.
Serena joined Sevident as an R&D Technician Intern in 2011. After completing her BS in Biomedical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Serena joined Sevident in 2013 as a full time R&D Technician. She now works as the R&D Manager, bringing her passion for problem solving and challenging the norm to her role, and hopes through Sevident she can implement change and better the world. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, exploring the world, and discovering new music at her local vinyl record shop.
BUSINESS AND OPERATIONS ANALYST
Conley joined Sevident as a Business and Operations Analyst in 2015 after receiving his Masters of Engineering from UC Berkeley. Together with a BS in Biology from the College of William & Mary, Conley brings to Sevident experience in biomedical research along with strong management skills in bioengineering and biotechnology. Conley has previously conducted graduate research as a Research Scholar at Harvard Medical School in addition to working several years in healthcare informatics. In his spare time, Conley enjoys exploring the West Coast while listening to lots of hip hop and electronic music.
Molly joined Sevident in 2015, bringing prior experience in molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology. She has a BS in Biology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. Molly brings her commitment to excellence and integrity to her R&D Technician position at Sevident. She is inspired to learn, grow, and work hard while serving the international scientific community. In addition to her work in science, Molly's life long passions include traveling and learning languages. She has had opportunities to explore parts of China, India, South America, and Europe, and gets immense joy from speaking to people in other native languages and immersing herself in new cultures
