Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sevident Inc. was founded in 2008 with one key goal in mind: Discovering a revolutionary way of producing a range of powerful molecular diagnostics from a single, dynamic technology. Since then, our mission, team, and research areas have expanded to encompass an even broader field of applications ranging from biomedical sample prep to infectious disease diagnostics.

Today, Sevident brings together an exceptionally diverse team of scientists and business professionals, all sharing the common goal of making a significant impact in improving human health.

Emily created Sevident’s proprietary capture technology and has been developing and refining it since 2008. Emily brings a unique scientific background that spans Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Molecular & Cellular Immunology. She completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Immunology & Rheumatology at Stanford University where she studied the role of the neuroendocrine-immune axis in rheumatic disease. Emily holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of California at Berkeley where she studied signaling pathways involved in stress response and cellular differentiation and a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Iowa where she studied the interaction between M. tuberculosis and innate immune cells.
